Macbook turns on and shows flashing folder icon

I have booted it into recovery mode and I can see a greyed out option that is like disk0 and then a sub item under disk0 which is about 1.8gb in size and I have verified that disk and it is fine.

When I was checking the startup disk nothing shows at all despite it all working just fine yesterday.. not really sure what else to try
