No Auto Punctuation or Caps

In text messaging when typing punctuation nor caps are automatically inserted (happens in messaging too). I have checked settings and all is on. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hello Skyyh,

Thank you for stopping by Apple Support Communities. From what you described, it sounds like you're having trouble with Auto-Capitalization and Smart Punctuation on your iPhone.

A great place to start troubleshooting would be to check to see if you have added any additional keyboards. You can find out by navigating to Settings > Keyboards. Then, tap on Keyboards. If you have any additional keyboards, delete them using the steps listed in this article: About the keyboards settings on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Finally, test the issue to see if that resolves it .

If you're still having with these features, try toggling off both Auto-Capitalization and Smart Punctuation under Settings > Keyboards. Then restart your iPhone: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Then toggle both Auto-Capitalization and Smart Punctuation back on again and test again.

I hope this information helps. Take care!
