After my IMovie updated it stopped letting me add a title to the very beginning of my project. It only adds to the first clip I have but not before the first clip. Does anyone know how to fix this or what to do?

Put a black background (or any other color) in front of your first clip and add your title above it.
Also, try opening iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and deleting preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects. Now see if your issue is solved.
Try creating a new project and see if perhaps the issue was confined to one project.
