lost contacts following recent updates
Since the recent update on my Mac, I seem to have lost most of my contacts/address book. How can I get it back?

Since the recent update on my Mac, I seem to have lost most of my contacts/address book. How can I get it back?

Unfortunately, I don't know how to 'disable iCloud>Contacts', and Restart.
I did try using the Time machine but I just had the 'searching for source' circular wheel and nothing happened.
I shall have to get someone in to do it for me. Thanks for the suggestions, though.
My icloud page looks nothing like that one! Thanks, guys, but I will have to get someone else to do this for me-||I can't get the time machine to display dates in order to choose an earlier format-before the latest update!

Try unchecking where the Blue Arrow points...
Try disabling iCloud>Contacts, Restart, do they come back?
To restore from your TM backup open TM from your Applications folder or Dock. Then find a TM backup that predates when Contacts went missing and click on Restore.
