iMovie packaged contents! Help!

I recently moved folders from the packaged contents to an external hard drive without checking how to properly move projects. (I copied them, then selected move when I put them on the external HD)

When I tried putting them back into the packaged contents, they don't appear in iMovie. There have been no alterations to the files. They have literally been copied out and pasted back unchanged.

Is there any way I can put those folders back and relink them to the iMovie library so that they show up?

Hi, Ron,

As you have discovered, when one moves or changes anything in the Show Package Contents folder there is a real risk of corrupting the iMovie Library.

As I understand it you went to your Movies folder in the Finder and Control-clicked on your iMovie Library icon, and then clicked on Show Package Contents. That displayed a list of folders of projects and events in the library. Then you somehow copied and moved the project folders to an external hard drive. Is the above correct? If so, can you provide more details on how and where you moved the folders? I am having trouble visualizing how you "copied them, then selected move". How did you move them? I am not aware of any "move" command that can be done from the show package contents folder. Did you move them to another iMovie library on the external drive? How did you try to move them back to the original library?
