I cannot open RAW (Canon .CR2) pictures, tried converting to jpg but not possible.

Im on Mojave, i recovered these pictures using a root user and digging through deleted files on a deleted user.

I moved the folder containing all of them onto my main admin account

Now i cannot open them in any program, it's either grayed out, the open button isnt lit up blue to be able to click it

I cannot convert them

Cannot "repair" them - tried stellar repair for photo to repair the cr2s

They were taken on a Canon 5D

What can I do to access the photos?

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.14

It does look the files are corrupted, but if anything can read them it would be Canon's own DPP (Digital Photo Professional). Since it knows what everything is in the file - unlike third party raw processors - it might be able to pull something readable from the file.

I made a root user account and found the folder which had all the photos in it by searching the name of the folder on the macintosh partition.

When i try to import to photos from pictures, i get this: https://gyazo.com/92c31ab62d806aad3ce7cbde2744fc2d

Do you know of any free software to help me recover these files successfully? This seems like my files are corrupted
