Poor jpg quality on iPad pro

I bought two iPad Pro’s intending to edit high end jpg’s taken with my Nikon Z camera. The iPad saves the files from the camera but displays them in very low quality compared to my dell desktop. Is this just Apple’s inherent quality, their standard because it’s “just” a tablet? If so what a shame as the tablet has great resolution and hardware. What a shortcoming if iPad Pro cannot be used as a high quality photo editor! Ant way to render my photos sharply on the Pro?

iPad Pro, iOS 12

Photos imported to iPad are saved as JPG. You can keep lower res or full res copies in settings. iPad isn't a full featured laptop. It was never intended as such. For photo editing, it's usually best to do that on a full featured laptop with a full featured photo editing tool such as Adobe, etc.

None of my photos imported to my iPad are rendered less than sharp. Go to Settings > Photos > Choose download and Keep Original for a higher resolution photo.
