iphone model A1688

I have a spare iphone which says on the back of the case that it is an A1688 model S which would make it an iphone 6S with a 4.7 inch screen. However the screen measures 5.5 inches which should make it a 6S plus, but in that case the model number should be A1687. What phone have I got is it a knock off, a hybrid or just a mistake at manufacture? By the way I live in the UK if that makes any difference.

Any help would be very welcome as I would dearly love to know. Thanks in advance. fm290.

Thanks Phil0124, I went back and re-measured and then I realised - I was measuring the diagonal of the whole glass screen, not just the illuminated part, that is indeed about 4.7!!!

Plug it into itunes to find out what model it is or input the imei into this website here to find basic device information.

The model number A1688 corresponds to a 6s, not a 6s Plus.

How exactly are you measuring the screen?

The iPhone itself has a height of close to 5.5 inches (5.44 actually), but the actual the screen size which measured diagonally and does not include the phone bezel is 4.7".

Thanks nathanq17, IMEI still gives 4.7 inches. I have since realised that I was measuring the wrong diagonal!!! See my reply to Phil0124. Many thanks for taking the time to sort me out. fm290.
