Stop Time Machine Nags - Temproarily!

I use many backup disks for Time Machine. Only one or two are attached to my Mac at any given time. Some are kept at remote locations.

Time Machine nags me with messages like "Time Machine has not backed up to Disk xxx for xxx days."

I might have 5-10 notifications every time I log on.

Question: Can I go to Time Machine preferences and minus out (remove) those disks from the list of Time Machine backups but add them back in to the list the next time I want to do an update to the time machine backups on that disk? Any repercussions? Will Time Machine treat it just like any other incremental backup as always?

Thanks,

Gary
