I don't know how you got WhatsApp Messenger installed on your iPad. The app isn't for iPad and that may be why you can't save pictures.

How are you using Whatsapp on your iPad? Whatsapp doesn't have an app for iPad.

Perhaps a better solution would be to save the photos from Whatsapp on your iPhone and if you are using the same Apple ID on both iPad and iPhone, the photos will be shared between the two devices.

Is your WhatsApp up to date? If it isn't, update it and try again.

oops... I just remember WA isn't available for iPad. Are you using web.whatsapp.com?

I'm glad you edited your post. I was wondering what you knew I didn't know. Whatsapp has NEVER provided an app for iPad. It's only available for iPhone.
