Hi there, I purchased a second hand iPad Pro, from a second owner. They’ve long forgotten how to reset the iCloud password which was on the iPad. They are willing to go into apple but that may be till later next week and I need to use the iPad.

There is nothing you can do. The only person who can release activation lock on that iPad is the previous owner who set it up. And if they take it in to Apple for help, they will need an original purchase receipt from Apple or one of their Authorized sellers for it.
They can try and recover their AppleID at https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201487. If they can recover it, they can release that device from any web browser and their iCloud account.
