OS Mojave Installation

I am upgrading my OS Sierra to Mojave and have downloaded the macOSupd10.14.4.dmg.

When I go to install it by opening the macOSupd10.14.4.pkg, I get the ALERT message - "This update requires macOS10.14!!

I have over 300 GB of storage

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated,

iMac 27", macOS 10.12

Ok what you have done there is downloaded the 10.14.4 update to macOS Mojave, in order to install this you need to be running macOS 10.14.3, As you are running macOS Sierra you cannot install this. Click on this link, How to upgrade to macOS Mojave - Apple Support read it, go to Section 4 click on Get macOS Mojave, this will download the full installer for Mojave and once installed you will have macOS Mojave version 10.14.4.
