iphone 6s, 32 GB - storage full capacity message but it's not. Deleted lots of Apps, photos, videos still shows storage at full capacity - it shows that what's taking up most of the space is Other.

I have an iphone 6s, 32GB. For a whole day I've been getting iphone storage is full capacity. I deleted a lot of Apps, offlined some, and almost all my photos/videos have been deleted its still showing at maximum fullness 32GB, and it shows that the most of the capacity is due to Other. It doesn't make sense. Also, every five minutes the phone keeps shutting down and restarts. I can't even speak on the phone with anyone as during my call the call drops. I'm wondering if this is all realted to the lates IOS 12.2 update. Why is it showing full capacity when i spent hours deleting a ton of stuff, and it didn't reduce the storage capacity at all ? How do you delete the "Other" from storage capacity ? what does this even relate to? I would like to retain my Notes, Voice Memos, and Texts. This has never happened before.

Hi  Liz7088,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today. It sounds like you're running out of internal storage space on your iPhone.

Have a look at this article: How to check the storage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch and the section "If your device is low on storage, iOS automatically frees up space while installing an app, updating iOS, downloading music, recording videos, and more. To make more storage available, iOS can remove some of your items, like streamed music and videos, files in iCloud Drive, and parts of apps that aren't needed. It also removes temporary files and clears the cache on your device. iOS only removes items that can be downloaded again or that aren't needed anymore."

The Other space you see would be the cache files. Try plugging the iPhone in iTunes as described in the article and see if "Other" matches in iTunes with what you see on the device.

You also mention the iPhone shuts down and restarts on its own. Have a look at: iPhone Battery and Performance and the section "Battery Health". It is very possible you need a battery replacement. Check out this link too: iPhone Battery & Power Repair.

Have a fantastic day!
