not recognizing camera on my Mac Mini

My Canon 80D is not recognized as a USB device. If I check About This Mac under USB devices I see it recognized as a Canon Digital Camera with valid information. I tried hooking up the camera both into the USB hub as well as directly to the main computer but no joy.

Any Ideas?

Mac mini, macOS 10.14

Thank you, it looks like it’ll only respond to Canon software. Please check and ensure you have the latest from options under https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/cameras/eos-dslr-and-mirrorless-cameras/dslr/eos-80d?subtab=downloads-software

(use drop arrow and select MacOS Mojave 10.14 to see full list)

Thanks "hcsitas" for the information. I downloaded the EOS Utility to download the camera images to my Mac Mini and it worked great. I have had the camera for a couple of years and have had this MAC mini for 3 years and did not require a separate utility in the past. Perhaps one of the OS X upgrades created this problem. Once again, thanks.
