recall UK plugs

well, I've tried to contact customer support but it is trying to tell me that my Ipod touch and nano haven't got a serial number that matches for my faulty plug adapter!!! Now I could take my potentially dangerous adapter back to my local store in Manchester, only a round trip of about 20 miles and an expensive parking cost OR I could just throw it away and buy a cheap Chinese copy (probably safer!) and save myself the time, the petrol cost and the parking cost..............what do you reckon.

So why don't you believe them?

After all, if anyone knows, it would be Apple, not anyone here. That said, have you checked the BBC News article, https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-48065422 which has pictures of the affected units? None of my Apple devices has the recalled plug.

As for your suggestion that a cheap Chinese copy might be safer - we'll pretend that you didn't say that, shall we? (The only correct answer is "yes".)
