Synchronization of Notes app password

Hi everyone, when I have to unlock a note on any device, they don't accept the right password even after being reset. It happened on all of them (but not always) especially on iMac 2015 with MacOS Mojave. What I have to do now??

Locked notes not accessible on macOS I recently updated to iOS 16, and when I opened Notes it prompted me about the new feature that lets the password be whatever the device password is. I changed it to this, and it works fine on my phone. On my Mac Mini (M1, Monterey 12.6), the notes show up but will not let me unlock them. They just say “Unsupported Note. This note uses unsupported features. To view or edit it, upgrade to the latest version of macOS.” I have checked if I need to update my system and my Notes app, but both of them are up to date. I read “https://support.apple.com/guide/notes/lock-your-notes-not28c5f5468/mac,” but I still cannot upgrade my Notes (that I know of.) Is there a way to fix this?

Notes app on MacBook not accepting the correct password. On my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) running macOS Big Sur 11.1 (20C69), I was unable to unlock notes using my Notes password. I know the Notes password, and I'm sure I do, because I was able to type it in on my iPhone in order to unlock the same iCloud note on the same Apple ID. I typed it at least 20 times on my MacBook just being absolutely sure I wasn't mistyping it, which I wasn't, but it wouldn't unlock. I realized it just wasn't accepting the correct password. There is an option to reset your Notes password, but this reset only allows you to create a new password for notes you lock from now on. Notes that already have a password aren’t affected. So after the reset, I was still unable to unlock my notes.

Password for notes on icloud not resetting Hello community, I recently forgot my notes password again unfortunately, the last time I did, I simply reset it and the new password worked on all my devices, because all my notes are connected to my iCloud. I forgot my password again and this time resetting it doesn't transfer the new password at all. For my macbook it is giving the hint to the old password and on my phone I get the hint for the even older password. I don't understand why it isn't transferring seeing as everything is connected to my iCloud. Thank you in advance for any help. Zoë

It's not at all clear what "being reset" means. In particular:

Perhaps you changed your Notes password.
Perhaps you created a new Notes password.

Those differences are explained here. Read this thoroughly and carefully.
