Apple Watch - iPhone problems after using "Airplane Mode" on my phone. (Problem is on the watch, not the phone.)

This is about my Apple Watch and its interactions with my iPhone.

In a meeting this AM, I put my phone in airplane mode.

The watch showed a little yellow airplane on the screen. OK.

When the meeting was over, I turned off airplane mode.

The watch remained in airplane mode.

I tried changing the watchface chosen on the watch app on my iphone. Watch didn't change.

I rebooted my iPhone and my Watch.

Still the same problem.

How do I get my watch out of airplane mode?

Thanks,

Apple Watch

Review: Use Control Center on your Apple Watch - Apple Support. It would appear to me that you may not have turned off Airplane Mode on your Watch Control Center.

Initiating Airplane mode on the iPhone automatically turns on Airplane Mode on the Watch, but turning it off on the iPhone does not automatically turn off Airplane Mode on the Watch.
