Unlocking Disabled Password on an IPAD

I have tried everything and nothing works. I have held down on the Home Button and the Wake Button and nothing happens. The IPAD is less than two weeks old. I wrote the password down when I put it in and also used the thumb print recognition now nothing is recognized. When I hold the buttons down, the option to restore never comes up. HELP HELP HELP
