Apple Watch Purchase Concern

I just received my ostensibly, new Apple watch. The packaging inside the shipping box was obviously opened as it was torn and the circular seal missing, and some of the insert material missing. It seemed that it may have been a refurbished watch since there were no scratches on the surface and it was repackaged carefully, so I continued to set it up and try it out. I noticed the instructions were missing after watching a video on youtube of an unboxing video of a new Apple watch. The watch set up OK but the battery dies rather quickly. I'm wondering if you sent me a returned watch that had problems.

Please advise.
