Stolen Phone / Apple ID / find my phone

So I got my phone stolen and I was wondering if I change my Apple ID password does that sign me out and disable find my iPhone ?

iPhone XS Max, iOS 12

Others have posted that changing the password didn't affect Find My Phone, but unless a password change is required, try finding the phone first.
