Can not mute WhatsApp

Hi everyone,

I have not gained WhatsApp access to any notification. Notification switch is off for this app. But when I get incoming WhatsApp call even if WhatsApp is not running in the background it rings. I do not see any notification or badge on the screen nor a pop-up message. I just hear WhatsApp ringtone and will not be able to tell who is calling unless I open the app.

Had a similar issue with google due while ago when I could not silence it at all.

Is it just me?
