I'm trying to get my Dell E310dw laser printer setup to print from my iPhone. But, I cannot setup my printer because the "Location" shown in CUPS is not an IP address, rather is shows the name of my machine (e.g., "MBP-aaa####"). How can I give my printer an IP address that can be accessed for network and wireless printing?

Sorry, that's really not helpful. I have consulted the printer user's manual. This "Location" name is not set by the printer. Its something the Mac has done. I don't know why my Mac would give this printer location the name of my machine. The question is how to properly change it, as a Mac setting issue.
You likely got your computer's name by checking the box that said [√] Share this Printer.
Checking that box means that you intend to use this computer to make the connection for everyone else on your Network.
Once you uncheck [√] Share ... the Printer speaks for itself, and gets its own Address.
Consult the printer's user's manual for how to connect it to a network.
