Is the Ipad 2 or 3 compatible with Airpods
I have a teacher I want to gift some Airpods to and she has an ipad 3 and her son has the ipad 2. Just want to make sure they can use the airpods with these devices and I'm seeing mixed things online.
Simple answer is no.
The Bluetooth specs in the iPad 2 and 3 ( and any other iDevices from that time and earlier ) are too old for the Bluetooth spec used in the Apple AirPods.
Any newer types of Bluetooth devices end up being incompatible with older mobile devices that use an older Bluetooth spec.
