Macbook charging noise

I have a normal 2015 Macbook and i'm having a very annoying issue.

At night i always have earphones or airpods connected to my laptop, but when I need to charge the Macbook I plug in the USB-C in to charger and it makes the loud charging noise *out of my laptop speaker* which is very annoying because I usually work at night and have people asleep near me.

The noise ALWAYS comes out of the Macbook speaker when i plug in the charger and have headphones connected, but the volume level of the noise is completely random. One night it will be barely noticeable, whereas another night, like tonight, the noise is DEAFENING right here at 4am and is clearly max volume on the speaker, even though even my airpods are not set to max volume.

This is a nightly recurring problem and makes me try extra hard to note have the charger unplug incase i need to plug it in again and wake the neighbours downstairs.

I'm talking about the 'DING' noise that the laptop makes when you plug in the charger.

This is normal.

It is audio indication your charger has connected properly.

This replaces the charging light indicator on the older Macs /magsafe connector.

You can try from Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app killing the sound.

enter and return the command line from terminal copy and paste:

defaults write com.apple.PowerChime ChimeOnAllHardware -bool false;killall PowerChime

If you do not have the 3 prong extension cord, get one for the magasafe charger. You slide the 2 prong duckhead off and — You will see the same connection as the

Power Adapter Extension Cable. Slide the Extension Cable into the Power

Adapter

Sound like a grounding issue.
