I've purchased a movie on iTunes, which provides both HD and SD forms. Although I am able to download either form on my iPhone, I still need to download an SD form on my PC, because I have to make it available on my iPod Nano. However, I can't find an approach to doing so on my PC.

Possibly the phone downloaded the SD version simply because it can't display the HD version. You should have a choice on a computer:

They are separate purchases - I'm afraid buying the HD version doesn't get you a free copy of the SD version, so you would have to purchase that separately.
Well, when I bought the film, there was ONLY ONE 'purchase' choice. After I bought it, I did download SD version on my iPhone and HD version on my PC without paying twice. Thank you, anyway.
