When did the 6S become waterproof to 1m? I bought mine in June 2018

I dropped my 6S in the water for a second. I took for granted that it cannot tolerate water (it's not working properly). I see that 6Ss on the website say they are waterproof to 1m for 30 minutes. My phone was purchased June 2018, is it supposed to be waterproof?

iPhone 6s, iOS 12

No, it is not waterproof. It's slightly water resistant. That means you can splash a little bit of water on it and maybe hold it out in a light rain while you talk. But any submersion will kill it.

Officially, the 6s has no waterproof or resistance rating from Apple - at all. That didn't even start until the iPhone 7. There are plenty of holes for water to immediately enter the 6s through. Water and electronics don't mix.
