iTunes cutting off songs

So... I've had this issue with iTunes for years now where it cuts off the songs early. The only fix I've found is to delete and re-download the songs and then play them for a few seconds. The problem is... I've got over 2000 songs and close to 1000 that I recorded myself (so I can't re-download them). I was content to live with the problem as long as I could play them on my phone (iPhone 7+ with the latest iOS) but now it seems to be happening on there too. Mac and iPhone are considered to be top tier... especially for doing music so it seems very odd to me that they can't seem to get on top of this... for about half a decade.

So... if anyone has suggestions as to how to fix this (because it really looks like Apple isn't interested) or failing that... if anyone can suggest a player that I can use on my computer and phone, I would greatly appreciate it!
