Driver is not installed (but driver is installed)

Since a recent update to Windows 10, I get following error message when connecting my iPhone 6s Plus

"Driver is nor installed

driver not installed itunes is waiting for windows update to install the driver for this iphone/ You may need to use Windows Settings app to check for updates."

This is exactly what I did. And Windows app tells me that the latest driver is installed.

Any other ideas what I can do?

Thanks, Wolfgang

Have you installed iTunes from the Microsoft Store or with a direct download from apple.com? If one version doesn't work for you the other might work better. Or reinstall the previous build that presumably used to work for you. Running the installer as administrator can help with component registration issues that might otherwise leave bits not communicating properly.
