Spelling and grammar, language selection per keyabord

Hello Everyone,

One of the rearrest case when look for help in Apple community, hope it will work.

Does anyone has advice how to keep spelling for English language/keyboard/input and turn off for unsupported language/keyboard/input.

I have two preferred languages and two input sources/keyboards: English and Lithuanian

I am fully aware that LT is not supported by MAC which is fine, no need to check spelling.

However I would like Spelling to be active when I use US keyboard/input.

For example in iMessages application.

Question is how to:

  1. keep spelling working when using input language US/UK
  2. and turn off spelling (automatically?) when I use LT language input

?

Thanks for advices.

You can always open a guest user account or second user account.

( a second user account would retain all settings between reboots.)

Set it up with one keyboard input language/ spelling /preference in particular.

Enable the quick user switching in the menu bar for easy back and forth.

The problem is that in MacOS (unlike iOS) there is no connection between the keyboard and spellcheck. You can certainly add a real or fake Lithuanian spelling library, but the only way to use it is to select it in the Edit > Spelling and Grammar > Show Spelling and Grammar menu. Which is more work than just turning spellcheck off.
