Create a 'floating' time zone calendar event on iPhone

Many people have asked the question and I struggled with it for a long time - the desktop calendar lets you create events with 'floating time zone' (which I like, because I travel a lot and while I plan a trip, my brain does not bend enough to understand that a 10 AM departure flight in Hong Kong will show as 6 PM the day before on my calendar when I am home in Texas. Consequently, I prefer to look at my calendar like it was a "paper calendar", meaning I like the 10 AM Departure event to show as 10 AM even when I am in a different time zone ("What I see if what I get") . No idea, why Apply has not given us a solution for that yet, like the option to switch off all of this automatic time adjustment, or adds the floating time zone to IOS for mobile devices, but here is my solution - more of a work around, actually:

On my desktop I put a bunch of 'dummy events' into each first Sunday of every month (I have little going on Sundays, so they don't bother my there. I have these set to "floating" Time Zone. Because I do not give the event a name, it will show as "new event" on the calendar. Note that this is quickly done by crating one event and then copy & past it a bunch of times on subsequent Sundays. These floating dummy-events will now be synchronized to your iPhone (assuming you have both devices linked to iCloud).

If I now want to create a new floating event on my iPhone, I go to the first Sunday of the month, and edit one of the 'new events', change everything but the Time Zone. Voila!
