Two-factor authentication with one Apple device

I have a new MBP, but no other Apple products. How do I use two factor authentication without another Apple product? At present I have to use the "Didn't get verification code?" button to get a code to my Android phone.

When I go to System Preferences and select iCloud, it asks me for a security code. But I've never received a security code. How do I get one?

MacBook Pro 13”, macOS 10.14

If your trusted devices are damaged / turned off / or offline , to enter in 2FA use a Mac browser , click on system preferences - icloud - account details and enter your Apple ID and password under security click on security and again click on get verification code you can use this code to enter 2FA .( note - the trusted number must be added it could be your android phone or an iPhone ) .
