APN Settings in XR

Recently I moved to Canada from USA and purchased a SIM card. Once I inserted SIM card to my device, the call and text are working perfecting but the cellular data is not working though there is 3G icon on the top right corner. I contacted to Public Mobile (Carrier), they gave me APN settings but I could not figure out the APN setting section in my XR. I would appreciate for your time and support.

If you go to Settings>General>About>Carrier, what do you see? It sounds as if the phone you have is not working with the correct carrier file for the carrier you are using. It may still have the carrier file from your US carrier. If you use an Apple supported carrier, your phone gets a carrier file from that carrier that installs and manages many of the settings on the phone, and APN settings is one of them. You will only have the ability to make APN changes if the carrier file allows it. See this support document for checking for a carrier file update with your new carrier. If you have the current carrier file, then ask the carrier what the issue may be. I'm guessing their file may not allow for settings APN, but only they can answer that. The carrier will probably be able to fix your mobile data access since they are the ones that control it. Stop by one of their representative locations and as for assistance. They can tell you if you should be able to change the APN settings on your device for one, and see about resetting your account or providing you with a new SIM if necessary.
