MacBook and iPhone iMessage

I recently got a new iPhone. I have imessage on both my phone and MacBook Pro. When I send messages from my phone it gets sent from my email and it happens on the macbook too. How do I fix this?

and it happens on my MacBook too

What does "it" mean?

  • "I see the messages there as well." Yes, that is how iMessages work.
  • "Messages send from my email there too." You can change that on the Mac in the Messages app by using the menu to go to Messages > Preferences > Accounts > Start new conversations from
