MacBook and iPhone iMessage

I recently got a new iPhone. I have imessage on both my phone and MacBook Pro. When I send messages from my phone it gets sent from my email and it happens on the macbook too. How do I fix this?

Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > [Start New Conversations From]

and it happens on my MacBook too

What does "it" mean?

"I see the messages there as well." Yes, that is how iMessages work.
"Messages send from my email there too." You can change that on the Mac in the Messages app by using the menu to go to Messages > Preferences > Accounts > Start new conversations from
