New favicon seems to update everywhere except Safari iOS when bookmarking/favoriting, despite clearing cache etc. Any advice? It’s a common issue with seemingly no resolution: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7721420

New favicon showed up today, with no intervention on my part. Not sure why. Guess it may be due to a time interval. Still, the feedback I sent to Apple stands, as there’s no good reason it shouldn’t update immediately like every other browser/device combo.

Issue has existed since at least 2016, probably much further back based on a Google search, and many users have reported it. Why isn’t this fixed yet? Please send feedback to Apple: https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
Actually not completely solved as old favicon is still showing on a few pages including pdfs. Why?
