I sometimes get a pop-up saying I need to do something with my Address Book Manager - but I can't find that as an application or anything, any help greatly appreciated
I’d guess it is a scam attempt (aka adware). Exactly what is it they want you to do? And please, do not click on anything or give them any info.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you're seeing a pop-up about an app that you don't recognize.
Can you provide more detail about this? What's the exact wording of the pop-up you see? Also, what app are you using when this pop-up appears? How frequently does it appear?
Did you double-check Finder > Applications to see if it shows up there?
How about Apple menu () > System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items? Do you see anything there?
Under Apple menu () > About This Mac, which exact macOS version are you using?

I have macOS Mojave 10.14.4 I can't recall the exact wording of the pop-up...something like: "Address Book Manager needs updating; Go to settings" I'm not sure if that is it exactly; it happens when I'm on various websites. Not very often, maybe 3 times in 24 hours of being on-line. I checked each of the items/areas that you mentioned before I sent the question and then again after your reply -- it does not appear anywhere. That's why I asked the community. I have a suspicious that it is a scam as babowa suggested. I am getting a ridiculous amount of scam emails too. Thanks for the response.
I could copy a screen capture of the pop-up but this system doesn't make it easy to do that. It came up as a support thing from Clean My Mac as a non-responsive application - how can I attach a copy of the screenshot? - for whatever that will be worth.
