How to connect Casio keyboard to Garageband?

I have a Casio CTK 3500 Keyboard that I recently bought. This keyboard has a midi plug which is the reason why I bought it. Can this keyboard act as a regular keyboard but also connect onto garagband as a midi keyboard? If yes, what adapters will I need to be able to connect it. Also, once I connect it, are there any softwares that ill need to download such as Playground? Will I be able to just connect it onto my MacBook, launch GarageBand, and be able to play using my keyboard? Im new to this so I hope its not too complicated.

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.13

yes, all you need is a Mac Compatible MIDI interface, you should be able to find one at any online music store like sweet water, musicians friend, or even amazon.

my keyboard doesn't have a midi output or input but it can be connected to my Mac using a printer cable. If I connect it using that would it work as thats the only way I can connect it.

in your original post you said "This keyboard has a midi plug which is the reason why I bought it," so which is it?

if it has a MIDI port you need a MIDI interface. if it doesn't have a MIDI port than the keyboard itself needs to be Mac Compatible
