My phone has gone into recovery mode, but I want to save my pictures before I restore it. What do I do?

So yesterday I tried to reboot my phone but then it never finished rebooting as the Apple logo is stuck on my phone. I brought to the store for help but they say you have to only restore. Now my phone is in recovery mode and I can't exit it. I forgot to back up/ import my photos so I really really don't want to lose them so I don't want to restore. I know it's my fault not backing up but is there any way I can access to my phone again or exit the recovery mode. I tried updating but it doesn't work as there would error (4). Please can someone suggest what I should do. I know a lot of you guys had this problem and if you were able to fix it can you please tell me how you've done it? Please I'm so desperate

If you have already started the recovery mode process I think you are too late to backup anything from your iPhone. All you can do is hope the photos have already been auto-backed up to iCloud or iTunes before you started with recovery.
