Sometimes the camera on my phone becomes unusable. The focus just goes in and out over and over again.
Multiple reports, multiple devices. Mine is an XS. Happens sporadically. Can’t pin down what triggers the condition. A reboot makes it go away for a while.

Bring it to a Genius Bar or an Authorized Service Provider for them to diagnose it. It would be much better if you could come around and show them the issue.
This is not how it supposed to work. I also have an iPhone XS and the camera performs with no doubts very single time.
iPhone XS has two cameras. You have not mentioned which camera is being referred by you.

Of the three cameras I am referring to the two front-facing cameras that are used to take photos not selfies. Hopefully that clarifies sufficiently. The link I provided in my original post should have also made it clear.
