iPhone payment
So I’m buying an iPhone for someone else, but I will be paying for it. I’ll be covering everything, how would the purchase of an iPhone 8 Plus work, would I pay the monthly payment required up front to the store?

What monthly payment?
If you buy an iPhone full price, its single one time payment.
If you setup a payment plan, such the iPhone upgrade program, or financing, then you pay the monthly fees when they are due. There is no down payment in store in either of these 2 cases.
Outside of that, the phone service plan is paid to the selected carrier directly and not Apple.
