Yes...Yes...VladTepesRomania... you are right it is pricey. Your bank may cover laptops with an extended warranty, or if you bought your MacBook Pro with a credit card. Again, it depends on your bank and which credit card you used. You'd have to check with them to make sure. Usually you have about a years warranty on your MacBook Pro. With AppleCare +, that will be extended to about 3 years. Again, you'll have to check with your credit card company/bank to see what is covered, how much, and what (if any) the extended warranty might be. Yes, appleCare+ is your only option for extending the warranty on all Apple products. Not that I'm saying it'll happen for sure, probably not, but if you have or need a huge repair done, then AppleCare + will take care of it.
and if you need a few huge repairs done and it happens often enough, then Apple can and may, at their own choice, replace your MacBook Pro with a similar model, free of charge to you. I'd say get AppleCare+..... better safe than sorry, right. Oh... and....
as long as you've bought a new MacBook Pro, why not get an external hard drive or AirPort Time Capsule (*should you be able to find one*) and get a backup system in place and working ?? again, better safe than sorry. it is easy to set up and use and almost does it automatically.
just my opinion
