no sound from internal speakers or headphone jack

I have a 15 inch 2017 macbook pro with all updates. Today, I am suddenly unable to get any sound out the internal speakers or headphone jack. I have looked at sounds in system preferences and its set correctly. No mute on, turned up, etc. No sound from iTnes, video, nothing. Any ideas?

Sure. If you hold down the "option" key and click on the speaker icon at the top of the screen it'll show you all audio inputs and outputs. Choose the appropriate one for you. Also go to system preferences, then sound, then effects and then "Play Through". Make sure that's set to your satisfaction. You could also try running Audio MIDI setup and making sure that the output and frequency are set to where you think they're supposed to be set. Usually either 44 khz or 48 khz. Other than that, maybe a reset the smc/pmu and zap pram would be in order

good luck to you
