Headphones wet

I forgot my iphone Xr headphones in a jacket and washed them, they are not working, but , i pluged them in wile they where still wet, is there any chance i caused damage to my lightning port?

iPhone XR, iOS 12

About splash, water, and dust resistance of iPhone 7 and later

Note: if it still works, you are likely OK.

I'm assuming you washed the EarPods and not the iPhone itself? You may have killed the EarPods (but you could get lucky) but that won't damage your Lightning port.
