How recent are saved contacts with “recent” badge?
I’m just curious what the timeframe is from contact and having the recent badge to when it disappears?
iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 12
No this “recent” badge actually in the contact

You have left me guessing on some aspects.
If you are referring to Phone app. Missed call Recent Badge.
The badge will disappear as soon as you open the recent tab.
