Moving apps from one iPhone to another

If you use different Apple ID’s on each phone, you won’t be able to download them again for free. Purchases are tied to the Apple ID that was used to make the purchases.

Furthermore, if it is a work phone and you have a work ID, does your employer allow you to download their purchases to your personal phone?

Let me try to make it very simple. On each phone go to Settings/iTunes & App Store. Verify that you are logged in to the same Apple ID on each phone in the iTunes & App Store settings (the Apple ID used in other places on the phone doesn't matter). Then all of the apps on one iPhone that were purchased with that Apple ID can be downloaded to the either phone, regardless of which they were purchased on. HOWEVER, if you have apps on a phone that were NOT purchased when logged in to that Apple ID you will have to buy or download them again.

Can’t you just download them? From the App Store.
