Why is junk mail being flagged with my personal flag?

It seems more frequently that junk and spam mail is appearing in my inbox with the orange flag symbol, as though I for some reason wanted to tag it for future review or something. I suspect it’s something with the email that forces iOS to flag it with my personal flag so it gets through the spam filter.


I can assure you I have never made edits to any of the filtering rules. I wouldn’t even know how to.
