How to retrieve unread emails while away from iCloud

I was unable to pay my iCloud storage bill for a week or so. Yesterday I paid the bill. Most recent emails have returned. What I'm very concerned about now- is that around a week of emails during the time of non payment have not returned at all. Please advise me how to get them back. Please don't say they were deleted because I'm expecting some very important messages.
