Importing CD's into iTunes
Are CD's that I import into my iTunes library saved on my computer's hard drive?

Yes. When you rip a CD with iTunes, iTunes creates one audio file per track, in your indicated audio format (default is AAC) and places it in an Artist/Album subfolder in your iTunes Media folder. It also creates an iTunes library entry.
