Calling from contact list

I got a different Iphone, went from a 6s to a 6. With the 6s, I was able to call someone on my contact list with two clicks (touches). Now it take three on the Iphone 6. Is there a setting that needs to be changed or is this just part of the software? I would really like it to make the call on the first touch, like my favorites do.

I think I see what I was doing wrong (#4).

Here's the sequence I was using:

  1. Opened the app
  2. Touch Contacts
  3. Search for the contact and touch the Contact
  4. Touch the blue circle that says "call"
  5. touch "Call mobile"

Your instructions say "4. Touch the phone number to make the call"

That sequence is one step less, thank you. BUT.....

Why would it have a blue button that says "call" if it doesn't call the number?????
