Is A1984 Model: MRYW2LL/A a factory unlocked iPhone XR?

Can anyone tell me if this is a factory unlocked iPhone XR?

Version: A1984

Model: MRYW2LL/A

iPhone: XR 64gb Coral

Can a carrier sim-lock this model or is it factory unlocked? I did search google for about an hour but the only valuable info I could find is that this model is both GSM & CDMA.

iPhone XR

If you google that model number, the hits do not at all guarantee it is unlocked. It’s sold by BestBuy and Walmart, neither of which sells unlocked phones (their phones lock to the carrier when activated).

In the USA some retailers, like BestBuy and others, sell under a “flex” policy. Those devices are unlocked at the point of sale, but then lock to the first USA carrier they are activated with.

My own iPhone XS model number will return hits for both carrier locked and unlocked sources. Mine is unlocked because I bought it from Apple and paid full retail.

yes you can. Every version has a specific model number, as do each carrier's versions. my model number on that list is under factory unlocked.

No. You can't.

The article is not accurate.

It is NOT POSSIBLE to purchase a new unlocked iPhone in the US anywhere but directly from Apple.

I went into a Sprint store today to double check it can be used on Sprint and the rep told me this "It says the phone is eligible to be used on Sprint but it is locked to the previous carrier. Please unlock from previous carrier before we can activate it on Sprint network."

I just dont understand, i bought a factory unlocked iphone xr 2 weeks ago from the Apple store and i got the 64gb coral version, and the model number is EXACTLY the same as this iphone im trying to activate on sprint. All my google research has led to the phone being factory unlocked (by model number) so how was a carrier able to lock a factory unlocked iphone?
