Beats X keep turning off, can't update firmware

My Beats X wireless earbuds keep turning off. I tried resetting a few times, but it doesn't fix the problem.

I have Mac OS 10.12 and the Beats firmware updater requires 10.13 so what can I do? I can't upgrade to 10.13 because some of my most important software won't work anymore, and I'm not going to upgrade just for beats firmware. Is there another version for OS 10.12 available?

The firmware updater says it requires 10.13 (after you download it) and it won't install on my computer. Anyway, since they are always paired with an iPhone, running the latest OS, I'm assuming the firmware is already up to date then.

The lights blink white 3 times, then they turn off completely. They are 100% charged.

They have been Reset about 6 times.

Hi gravitystation,

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're having trouble with your Beats powering off, and you're unable to update them. I'd love to share information that may help.

To start, you should be able to use macOS Sierra 10.12 to download the updater and make sure the firmware is up to date: Update the firmware of your Beats product. Also, if your Beats are paired with an iPhone running iOS 10 or later, they're automatically kept up to date.

You mentioned that they're turning off unexpectedly. Make sure that the color of the LED indicator is white after charging, rather than red or blinking red: Set up and use your BeatsXearphones.

Take care!
